ABOUT ME
I am Oliver Spike Joseph, a rabbi based in London. I work freelance with communities and organisations around the UK and beyond.
I offer consultancy to national charities and businesses on how to work with the Jewish community. This model of community engagement that I have developed of how organisations can work with our minority faith community can extend to how businesses and charities engage other minority communities.
I serve our Havurah as a rabbi. Havurah is our Jewish home, a dynamic, young and innovative Jewish community. Check out our website!
I work as a spiritual counsellor and I currently serve as a chaplain in UK prisons.
I qualified as a rabbi in Los Angeles at the Ziegler School for Rabbinic Studies and prior to that I studied at both the Conservative Yeshiva and Hartman Institute in Jerusalem as well as Tel Aviv University.
I am excited to expand the boundaries of Jewish communal life to welcome and include those from religious and non-religious backgrounds, and those who are finding their feet on their spiritual journey.
Outside of my professional work you will find me in the garden, walking on the Heath with my family or enjoying a good cup of coffee.

“Rabbi Oliver Joseph is the real deal: a leader who inspires and elevates, both through the depth of his wisdom and also through the warmth of his soul. He fuses the authenticity of a deep engagement with Jewish practice and learning with an enthusiasm for contemporary life in all its diversity. While he speaks to everyone, he is particularly effective at engaging young people in Jewish community and life.”
-- Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson, Vice President, American Jewish University, Dean's Chair, Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies
“Rabbi Oliver is a thoughtful and dynamic leader of our community. He is in touch with our needs and creates bespoke and diverse learning opportunities and activities. He seeks to understand where each community member is and leads relation ally. His care and connection to our Bnei mitzvah kids has been exceptional, and the kids feel very connected to him as a rabbi and so to the community as a whole. We are delighted that Rabbi Oliver has chosen to lead us, and we know that the future is bright, both for our community and for Rabbi Oliver.”
